The Asia-Pacific Leadership Network (APLN) has over 180 members from 26 countries across Asia and the Pacific, consisting of former political, diplomatic and military leaders, senior government officials, and scholars and opinion leaders, dedicated to addressing security challenges in the Asia-Pacific, with a particular focus on nuclear non-proliferation, risk reduction, and disarmament.

Lalit MANSINGH
Former Foreign Secretary and Ambassador of India
Lalit Mansingh has served as Foreign Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, High Commissioner of India to the UK, and the Ambassador of India to USA.
Belonging to the 1963 batch of the Indian Foreign Service, Amb. Mansingh is considered one of the most distinguished Indian diplomats in history. He has the unique distinction of having served as the Foreign Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs as well as the High Commissioner of India to the UK and the Ambassador of India to USA. He has also served as India’s Ambassador to the UAE and High Commissioner to Nigeria. Earlier, he has served as the Secretary (West), Director General of the ICCR and Dean of the Foreign Service Institute of the MEA. Since his retirement from active service, he has been sharing his experiences with the Foreign Service Institute as Professor Emeritus and also with various foreign Institutes, including the Brookings Institution in the US.
Other positions Amb. Mansingh has held include: Member of the International Crisis Group (ICG), member of International Advisory Council, APCO International based in Washington, member of Governing Body of Development Alternatives based in New Delhi, Global Envoy for Buddhism of International Buddhist Confederation based in New Delhi, member of the Track 2 Ottowa Dialogue involving India, Pakistan and Afghanistan and Founder Chairman of the Kalinga International Foundation, New Delhi.
