Seoul Defense Dialogue 2021
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Seoul Defense Dialogue this year, a special conversation titled, “Achievements and Prospects of Multilateral Cooperation” was hosted by Professor Moon Chung-in, Chairman of the Sejong Institute, with panelist, the Honorary Gareth Evans, professor emeritus at the Australian National University (former Australian Foreign Minister).
The Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD) is a multilateral cooperation platform representative of the global defense field. Launched by the Republic of Korea Ministry of National Defense in 2012, the SDD was able to find its current place on the international stage through the interest and support of high-level defense officials and civilian security experts from various nations and international security organizations. The overarching theme of this year’s SDD is “Borderless Security Crises and Multilateral Responses,” reflecting the changing international security environment. Centered on this theme, the 2021 Seoul Defense Dialogue seeks to come up with creative yet realistic solutions to transnational security issues.
