Appeal to New Approaches to the North Korea Problem

Freie Universität Berlin

New tensions between the USA and China, the Russia-Ukraine war and the consequences of these dynamics have caused many economic and security problems in the world and threatened stability. The Korean peninsula also faces multiple challenges, such as increasing tensions due to the lowered nuclear-use threshold and changing constellations around North Korea. It is now urgent to find a new way to approach the North Korea problems, not to enhance the threat, and to come back to the course towards peace on the Korean peninsula.

On June 15, APLN Vice Chair Moon Chung-in spoke at the Korea Europe Center (KEC)  Human Security Forum, underlining the urgency of finding a new way to approach the North Korea problems, not to enhance the threat, and to come back to the course towards peace on the Korean peninsula.
