Members

The Asia-Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (APLN) has over one hundred members from eighteen countries across Asia and the Pacific, consisting of former political, diplomatic and military leaders, senior government officials, and scholars and opinion leaders. APLN aims to inform and energize public opinion, especially high-level policymakers, to take seriously the very real threats posed by nuclear weapons, and to do everything possible to achieve a world in which they are contained, diminished and eventually eliminated.

Cathy MOLONEY

Dr Cathy Moloney is the Head of the Centre for Defence Research, Australian Defence College.

Dr Cathy Moloney is the Head of the Centre for Defence Research, Australian Defence College, Editor of the Australian Journal of Defence and Strategic Studies, the flagship academic journal of the Department of Defence and the Australian Defence Force, and board member of Women in Nuclear (WiN) Australia. Cathy has over a decade of academic experience in International Relations, National Security, and Higher Education Teaching and Learning. She has held roles as a Lecturer, Course Convener and Supervisor in International Security and International Relations at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has been a Senior Academic Researcher on projects covering nuclear command and control, Australian nuclear policy, and Australian engagement with Asia, among others.

Dr Moloney is the author of a range of publications covering the nexus between strategy, politics, and the political economy of nuclear policy; hypersonic weapons and deterrence theory; and national security and Australian foreign policy. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nuclear Policy and International Relations (Griffith University), Masters of International Politics (1st Class) (University of Melbourne) and Bachelor of International Relations (Griffith University).
