She is an adjunct professor at the School of Global Service at Sookmyung Women's University, Seoul. She also works for the Heinrich Boell Foundation, East Asia Regional Office in Seoul, as a Programme Manager for Foreign and Security Policy. She holds a PhD from Ewha Womans University based on a doctoral dissertation on South Korea’s development policy towards ASEAN. Her research and advisory work focuses on South Korea’s Women, Peace and Security (WPS) initiative, so-called the 'Action with Women and Peace' Initiative, and drafting/monitoring of South Korea's National Action Plans (NAPs) for the Implementation of UN SCR 1325 as well as gender ODA policy and practices.
