Members

The Asia-Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (APLN) has ninety-three members from sixteen countries across Asia and the Pacific, consisting of former political, diplomatic and military leaders, senior government officials, and scholars and opinion leaders. The APLN aims to inform and energize public opinion, especially high-level policymakers, to take seriously the very real threats posed by nuclear weapons, and to do everything possible to achieve a world in which they are contained, diminished and eventually eliminated.

Angela Woodward is a member of the New Zealand Public Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Arms Control. She has worked in the arms control and disarmament field since 1998 specializing in monitoring, verification, and compliance issues.

Angela Woodward has worked in the arms control and disarmament field since 1998, specializing in monitoring, verification, and compliance issues. Since she joined VERTIC in 1999, she has held various management roles and worked on numerous projects on nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament verification and national legislative implementation of CBRN treaties and agreements. She has provided technical legislative assistance on CBRN instruments to states around the world and acted as the Legal Coordinator for the first EU Joint Action on the Biological Weapons Convention. She was also an adviser to the chair of the UN Group of Governmental Experts on Verification in All its Aspects in 2006. Woodward has also served on the New Zealand Public Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Arms Control (PACDAC) since 2011 and is an Adjunct Senior Fellow in the School of Law at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch where she taught Political Science. She holds B.A. (Hons) and LL.B. degrees from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and an LL.M. (Public International Law) and PGCHE from the London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom.
