During the APLN’s recent Board of Directors meeting, it was decided that the issue of cultivating young leaders should be made into a priority. Pursuant to that aim, the APLN Secretariat formally agreed to support the KAIST-NEREC Summer Fellows Program which educates undergraduate and graduate students from around the world on nuclear non-proliferation. Over the course of several weeks, students will participate in research activities including lectures, group projects, research work, and field trips. They will be given opportunities to interact with fellow colleagues as well as experts and leaders in the field, which will contribute to building networks for further collaboration and achievement. In relation to this program, KAIST-NEREC maintains an alumni network that allows former fellows to stay connected. The APLN endorses such efforts, and works in parallel to foster the next generation of leaders in nuclear issues.
