Jishe FAN Professor at the Institute for International Strategic Studies at the Central Party School of the Communist Party of China Dr. Fan Jishe used to be a Senior Fellow and Director for Strategic Studies and Deputy Director of the Center for Arms Control and Nonproliferation Studies in the Institute of American Studies at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
  • Dr. Fan Jishe used to be Senior Fellow and Director for Strategic Studies and Deputy Director of the Center for Arms Control and Nonproliferation Studies in the Institute of American Studies at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He is also professor of the Graduate School of CASS. He is also Executive Editor-in-Chief of Contemporary American Review (Quarterly).

    His research interests mainly include arms control, disarmament and nonproliferation issues, American security policy, and Sino-US strategic security relationship. He published widely in academic journals, edited volumes, and conference proceedings. He recently authored The Party Politics in U.S. Arms Control Policy, co-authored The U.S. Military Strategy in the Post-Cold War Era: Adjustment and Adapting, and co-edited Comparative Study on Nuclear Strategies. Dr. Fan was visiting scholar at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey Institute of International Studies (2002-2003), the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs of Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (2007-2008), Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University (2012), and Japan Institute of International Affairs (2010). Dr. Fan is Board Member of the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association and Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament. He serves on the boards of several journals, including the Chinese Journal of American Studies, Foreign Affairs Review, and Global Review.
