Dinusha Panditaratne is the former Executive Director of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI). Prior to her appointment at LKI, Dr. Panditaratne taught as an Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (from which she is on extended leave) and was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Panditaratne previously worked at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, an international law firm in New York. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
Dr. Panditaratne also serves on the executive committee of the Centre for Rights and Justice in Hong Kong and on the International Advisory Board of the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh. Dr. Panditaratne received her initial degree with first class honours from the University of Oxford, and received her master’s and doctorate from Yale Law School. Her scholarship and teaching focuses on public law and international law, including international human rights and international humanitarian law.
