  • Sung-Hwan Kim served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea from October 2010 to March 2013. His previous positions include Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade (from March 2008) and Senior Secretary to the President for Foreign Affairs and National Security (from June 2008). He has also held senior diplomatic posts representing the Republic of Korea to international organizations, the United States of America, the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan and India. He was appointed as a Member of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda in July, 2012. After retiring from the Foreign Service, he was Chair of Institute for Global Social Responsibility and Distinguished Visiting Professor at Seoul National University for two years until March 2015. He also served as a member of the Preparatory Committee for the 2018 Pyongchang Winter Olympics.
